Switching to a New Electricity Plan after Joining Energy Ogre
In this blog, we’ll discuss a couple quick actions Energy Ogre requests from new members. This helps us get you switched to a new electricity plan as quickly as possible at the member’s current home.

Like combining brisket, eggs, and salsa into a tortilla, signing up for Energy Ogre is one of the best decisions a Texan can make. And when someone joins, we ogres don’t take it lightly. Our team wants to make sure you get the right electricity plan as soon as possible. To do that, we need to know a few details about the electricity plan you currently have.
Providing Previous Account Information
As Maya Angelou famously said, “You can’t really know where you are going until you know where you have been.” It’s the same with matching the right plan for your home’s electricity needs. Accessing your account information helps us to confirm:
- Service address
- Meter number
- Contract end date
- Historical electricity usage
With the information above, Energy Ogre will be off and running to have you all taken care of. Without it, we’ll be unable to set you up with a new electricity contract.
Three Ways to Share Electricity Details with Energy Ogre
Option 1 - Provide Account Information
This is the quickest and easiest way to share your account details. All you have to do is grant us access to your online account with your electricity provider. You can do this on your Energy Ogre member account page.
- In the menu, click on notifications, and then select the one to “Update your electricity details”
- Select your current electricity provider
- Add your username and password and you’re all set

Option 2 - Upload a Full Copy of Your Latest Bill
Energy Ogre can also get the information it needs by reviewing your most recent bill. To send your bill to our team of green eared smiley faces, you can upload it to the same area in the member account dashboard above.
Click the section titled, “Upload a copy of my latest bill.” We can accept your bill in a variety of ways, and heck, you can even snap a photo with your phone and then upload the picture. Important Note: Please make sure all pages of the bill are included.
Option 3 - Email Your Bill to Energy Ogre
The final option is to email a full copy of your bill to hello@energyogre.com. In the subject line, please include your service address. And again, please make sure all copies of the bill are included.
